Doha – Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Language Center has launched its fall 2021 language courses for the public. Adults, youth and children can choose from 12 global languages with courses offered between September 19 and December 15. Classes will be delivered online and face-to-face at flexible times.
Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, German (in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Gulf Region), Portuguese and Spanish classes are open to all ages. Additionally, adults can choose between Italian, Russian, Turkish, Japanese, English and Korean. Classes start at the beginner stage and progress to more advanced levels. For students with prior knowledge, language center staff can help determine an appropriate starting point.
The Language Center is based at the Translation and Interpretation Institute (TII), which is part of HBKU’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS). Qualified language professionals follow the latest methodologies, using a variety of technology-enhanced formats and learning styles that focus on developing speaking, listening, reading and speaking skills. ‘writing. The program is communication-focused and students are taught entirely in a foreign language, ensuring that all lessons are an immersive and enriching cultural experience.
The courses offered by the Center continue its mission to provide world-class foreign language education that enables learners to acquire a new language within its cultural context.
