* HBKU Institute of Translation and Interpretation Language Center Opens Registration for Spring Courses

To promote a culture of learning and celebrate languages in the wider community, the Institute for Translation and Interpretation (TII), part of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at Hamad Bin University Khalifa (HBKU), has opened registration for its Spring 2022 Language Course, QNA reported.
The courses reinforce TII’s mission to provide world-class foreign language education that enables learners to acquire a new language in a natural setting.
TII currently offers 12 languages for adults: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Turkish, and six for children and youth: Arabic, French, Spanish, German, Chinese Mandarin, and Portuguese. Students who are unsure of their level will be assigned an appropriate level of language proficiency based on placement tests. Children will have the opportunity to practice their language of choice through structured lessons that incorporate various activities, such as arts and crafts, drama, games and music. Courses for adults will last 11 weeks, while those for children will take place over 14 Saturdays.
Dr Nima Nazari, Assistant Professor at CHSS and Director of the TII Language Center, said: “We welcome people of all ages and levels. We ensure that students are immersed in a learning experience that is both effective and engaging. Our instructors are native or close. – native speakers who use advanced methodologies and technologies to accelerate students towards their goals. Multilingualism is a major asset and is essential to be able to function in today’s global economy. A new language can help boost professional, political skills and business success.”
Classes are led by qualified instructors with previous experience teaching children and adults and will take place at flexible times throughout the week.
