UCC students are encouraged to consider reading additional language courses
General news for Thursday, January 13, 2022
The Registrar of the University of Cape Coast’s College of Humanities and Law, Mr Ebenezer Aggrey, has advised freshly enrolled university students to consider taking additional language courses as part of their extracurricular activities.
He believes that learning additional languages as students pursue various programs tends to open up more job opportunities for them.
He said, “We need to have a generation of Chinese or French multilingual students and that will be key for them because in the 21st century students need to be as versatile to be marketable and very as productive.”
Mr Aggrey made the comment during a speech on Day 2 of the three-day orientation program for new students.
He encouraged students to take advantage of their time at school and learn other languages to explore the many opportunities a bilingual person can have.
Meanwhile, some students who spoke to ATLFMNEWS expressed satisfaction with the warm welcome the school and their various residences have given them.
